Chiari di Lunae: The Jewel Lamp

A Unique Lighting System by Gianni Veneziano and Luciana Di Virgilio

The inspiration for Chiari di Lunae comes from the purity of Murano glass and the balanced intensity of light. The designers wanted to create a lighting system that could be interpreted in a different way, and they achieved this by handcrafting cylinders made of the purest crystal from Vetreria Vistosi. These cylinders are then embellished with pearls from Morellato Gioielli, creating a luminous texture that captures the eye and lights up any space with the help of an LED source.

What sets Chiari di Lunae apart from other lamps is its unique combination of materials. By combining the simplicity of glass with the elegance of pearls, the designers have transformed a common lamp into a true jewel. The use of LED technology ensures energy efficiency and a long lifespan.

The Chiari di Lunae lamp has a diameter of 40 cm and a height of 80 cm (which can be extended to 120 cm with cables). Its sleek and sophisticated design makes it a perfect addition to any contemporary interior.

The project for Chiari di Lunae started in late 2013 and was completed in March 2015. It was exhibited at the Salone del Mobile in April 2015, where it received great acclaim for its innovative design and exquisite craftsmanship.

Gianni Veneziano and Luciana Di Virgilio, the talented duo behind this design, faced the challenge of combining two seemingly contrasting materials - glass and pearls - to create a harmonious and visually striking piece. Their creativity and attention to detail resulted in the creation of the first jewel lamp in a Limited Edition.

The Chiari di Lunae lamp has been recognized for its exceptional design and has been awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category in 2016. This prestigious award is given to designs that meet professional and industrial requirements, integrating industry best practices and competent technical characteristics.
